update

it has been an obscenely long time since this space has been updated, and for that, i offer my most sincere apologies. i'm currently in the process of reworking the site, so in the meantime, please feel free to head over to my MySpace page for updates and new music.

sunset at midnight ep (eq grey) released!

yes, after a long haitus, i've got a new release out on australian label eq grey. the double a-side ep features two brand spankin' new tracks - tokyo midnight - a deep techy dancefloor bomb, and sunset boulevard - a flowy, funky, melodic house track that has been pleasing listeners worldwide.

entering the balance record pool's top 50 at lucky #13 and rising steadily to its current position at #3, the ep is performing quite strongly thus far. it's available now in vinyl format at fine record shops, and digitally at beatport.com.

paul keeley album release party - S.A.T. montreal - thursday january 25th

if you'll be in the montreal area, come check out a live p.a. by yours truly, filled with all of my new album cuts, as well as other local dj's including epsilonlab's very own eloi brunelle. the evening begins at 9pm and shouldn't run too terribly late, so everyone will be able to get at least a little bit of rest after the beat-filled frenzy. hope to see you there!

so... no updates in a few months. time to play some catch-up...

album news - the new paul keeley album, entitled "blunt etiquette" is slated for release in mid-late january of 2007. it features 10 tracks, most of which are aimed squarely at the dancefloor, exploring the many facets of the genre. there will be an album launch party close to the time of release. check back here for details if you will be in the montreal area during that time.

soundtrack stuff - i've been working on some music for the DVD and internet streaming version of the soon-to-be released documentary "shadow company". it's been a great challenge so far - basically re-interpreting the existing pieces that were originally in place for the theatrical version. it has also provided the opportunity to really get inside my new production environment and see what it's capable of.

further projects - who knows? after the xmas break, i'll be jumping headlong back into music, if all goes well. i'm planning on exploring another side of paul keeley, as well as gyges and hopefully taking part in the argon floozy project.

i'm also making a pre-emptive new year's resolution to update this space more frequently.

music music music... or at least that's the intention. funny how things don't always work out as you plan/hope. i'm in the "final stages" of editing and piecing together my lovely opus. basically i want to have it finished this weekend, so that it can be ready to roll on out sometime early this fall - just in time for people to start congregating indoors where it's warmer once again. i hope.

we'll see what format and such the album will be in. CD is looking doubtful at this point, since it's kind of a dead format, unless the music is living-room oriented. since my recent material is 95% dancefloor, it doesn't seem likely..... vinyl could be nice, but is $$$, so the most likely avenue of release is looking to be online. as in paid downloads. as in the mighty beatport.

so yeah, the music is coming, and the options are open... it's been a while, i know, but hopefully it will have been worthwhile. if not, well, then maybe i'll just stick to EP's in the future. we shall see...

so i'm now back from berlin... for those of you who didn't know, i played at this year's love parade. in a nutshell, the experience was utter insanity. i took a bunch of pictures. you can check them at my flickr page. post some commments and such if you like.

mutek has come and gone, but if you missed my gyges set with vromb, it's now online at bandeapart.fm in 192kbps windows media (boo) streaming format. check it out here.

may 16th, 2006

it's officially official - i'm playing mutek on friday june 2nd at 5pm at the s.a.t., montreal. i'll be under the guise of my gyges moniker, facing off against montreal's own notorious noisemaker vromb. a realtime-streamed 'le placard' performance is also looking like a definite possibility, along with a few fellow musicians/friends. check this space for updates.

borderline 01 is now available on beatport, featuring the paul keeley remix of 'get on the floor' by m.o., as well as the original and all the other great remixes - check it out!

one more track finished for the upcoming album... my favorite thus far. my first track written with my brand new/old juno106. sorry, no music clip for the music page yet - just thought i'd offer up a small progress report for anyone who may be remotely interested.

also in the preliminary stages of planning a european tour for mid-late august of this year - if you are interested in having me play live in your area during this time, please contact me and hopefully we'll be able to set something up.
